Money Mart Payday Loans in Hawaii

Money Mart
moneymart.com
1419 Dillingham Hwy
Honolulu, Hawaii
808-848-2435

Money Mart, while being considered a “small company” in comparison to larger chains is quite prolific and has stores all over the states they serve. This company primarily deals in payday loans, check cashing and tax return preparation. Like many payday loan operations, this company encourages you to sign up and become a free member with them to be eligible for promotions that occur throughout the year that could have benefits such as lower interest rates and higher loan amounts.

This company was founded in Salt Lake City but is now part of the Dollar Financial Group which has over 350 locally owned payday loan and title loan stores in its network.

What They Offer

At any of the Money Mart stores in Hawaii you can get payday loans, checks cashed, prepaid debit cards and pay certain bills such as utilities. The most popular services are the payday loans and yearly tax return preparation.

To qualify for a payday loan, you’ll need a valid ID, proof of employment (paycheck stubs), verification of your checking account and a blank check that you’ll use to get the payday loan. You’ll post-date the check for your next payday then receive the loan you’ve qualified for. When that date you’ve specified arrives, you have to make sure you have the full amount plus any fees in your checking account so you don’t get nailed with NSF charges from your bank plus additional lender fees.

Where They Are Located

On the official Money Mart website, they have a “store locator” that enables you to find a nearby physical office. In Hawaii, there are stores in Honolulu, Pearl City, Aiea, Hilo and many more cities. Odds are you’ve driven by one or two at some point.

If you don’t live within driving distance of an office, you can complete most of the needed steps online and you may be required to scan and/or fax certain items such as your paycheck stubs so the company can keep them on file.

Rates/Terms

Since this company has so many Hawaii locations they fully understand how the laws work and what the loan limitations are for this state. The maximum you can borrow legally in Hawaii is $600 but Money Mart encourages you (and may limit you) to borrow only what you need for any specific reason.

The fees you’ll pay in Hawaii end up being 15% of the total payday loan amount as well as $17.65 on every $100 borrowed.

Additional Info

Since this company operates in a handful of states, once you’re a free member and your information is on file you are free to use their services even if you’re visiting the mainland US for business or pleasure. You never know when an emergency will arise so it’s beneficial to have a company like this with all your information on hand should you need a quick buck.
